rooftop.talk 28: New legal framework for crowdfunding - Where is the market heading?

Rooftop.talk about "New legal framework for crowdfunding - Where is the market heading?" took place on 22 July 2021.

Crowdfunding became an increasingly important alternative form of financing in recent years. The material characteristics of crowdfunding are that the capital is provided by a large number of investors and in relatively small amounts on average. The reasons for the success of crowdfunding are manifold. Crowdfunding enables small investors to invest in companies and projects that are usually not available to them for investment purposes. Crowdfunding campaigns are regularly accompanied by marketing activities, allowing the company to present its projects as well as its products and services to a broader public. The success of crowdfunding is also due to well-established crowdinvesting platforms in Austria. Lastly, the success of crowdfunding is based on political decisions at the European and national level, which have led to the increasing attractiveness of crowdfunding. Just recently, a new EU regulation on European crowdfunding service providers for businesses came into force, which will significantly change the crowdfunding market.
