In the context of the Annual Anti-Money Laundering Conference at the ARS Academy, Mag.a Leyla Farahmandnia will give a lecture on the Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) obligations of virtual currency service providers under the Financial Markets Anti-Money Laundering Act (FM-GwG).
Since 10 January 2020, virtual currency service providers must comply with the customer due diligence requirements of the Financial Markets Anti-Money Laundering Act to prevent money laundering and terrorist financing. The presentation of Mag.a Leyla Farahmandnia aims to provide an overview of this new professional group, their obligation to register with the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA) as well as the applicable supervisory powers of the FMA.
