Legal Update #6: Digital Services Act - What will change for retailers?

ECOMMERCE LEGAL UPDATES in cooperation with the Handelsverband - Austrian Retail Association:

In the current LEGAL UPDATE #6 Mag. Jacqueline Bichler and Veronika Krickl focus on the Commission's draft of the "Digital Services Act" (DSA), which – together with the Digital Markets Act – is part of the EU initiative "Shaping Europe's Digital Future". The aim of the draft, which was presented in December 2020, is to create a transparent and secure online environment and, above all, to protect online users from illegal content as well as from illegal goods and services. The draft's addressees are primarily very large online platforms, although consumers and merchants could also benefit from the harmonization of legislation in the internal market and the increased due diligence and transparency obligations of gatekeepers.
