Bitcoin & Cyber Security – How does the law protect us today and tomorrow?
5. July 2018 @ 18:30 - 22:00
The University of Vienna in cooperation with Stadler Völkel Attorneys at Law would like to invite you to the event “Bitcoin & Cyber Security – How does the law protect us today and tomorrow?”, taking place on 5 July 2018 at 6.30 pm on the top floor of the Law Faculty of the University of Vienna (Juridicum Wien, Schottenbastei 10-16, 1010 Vienna).
How secure is the blockchain really? Money laundering, financing of terrorism and hacker attacks: lately there have been rather negative headlines that are causing a stir around cryptoassets and the blockchain technology. How do IT experts assess the protection potential of software and how do legal experts view existing legal protection mechanisms? Is there any criminal law protection in connection with the blockchain technology? What should private persons and companies know about financial criminal law? Are investigative authorities active in the blockchain world? These and many other questions will be discussed at the event on 5 July 2018!
Christian Piska (ao. Univ.-Prof., University of Vienna) leads through the evening. Besides the three speakers—Farsam Salimi (Ass.-Prof., University of Vienna), Natalie Enzinger (Enzinger Steuerberatung) and Oliver Völkel (Stadler Völkel Attorneys at Law)—Alexander Haslinger (Federal Criminal Agency), Max Tertinegg (Coinfinity), Matthias Lichtenthaler and Michael Hauenschild (both Bundesrechenzentrum GmbH), as well as Wilhelm Seper (Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs) will discuss the topics.
