Austria's Concept of a Gambling Monopoly (again) not touched by planned Amendments of the Gambling Act

Austria's government has announced an amendment to the Austrian Gaming Act which is to come in autumn 2021. Arthur Stadler welcomes in the daily newspaper DER STANDARD the announced unbundling of the much criticised triple competences of the Minister of Finance as gambling supervisory authority, licensing body and co-owner of the (de facto) monopolist. At the same time, he criticises in the article that Austria's encrusted monopoly concept is not addressed in the amendment for the umpteenth time.
